Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?
We have two Sacramento-area locations: West Sacramento (1282 W. Capitol Ave) and Foothill Farms (5207 Elkhorn Blvd, Sacramento). See each store’s page for directions and details: West Sacramento · Foothill Farms.
What are your hours?
Both stores open at 6:00am every day. Last wash is 8:45pm in West Sacramento (doors lock at 10:00pm) and 9:45pm in Foothill Farms (doors lock at 11:00pm). Current hours are always posted on the location pages.
Do I need coins?
No — Leaf Laundry is completely coinless. Every washer, dryer, and vending machine runs on the Leaf Card or the LaundryCat mobile app.
How does the Leaf Card work?
Pick up a reusable Leaf Card at the in-store kiosk, load value onto it, and tap to start any machine. You can check your balance and reload at the kiosk anytime. Full details: Payment Options.
Can I use my phone instead of a card?
Yes — the LaundryCat app works at every machine. One thing to know: the Leaf Card and the app are separate accounts and can’t be linked, so pick one and keep your balance there. Details: Payment Options.
What payment methods do you accept?
The kiosk and app accept the usual card and mobile payments, and we also accept EBT Cash. Machines themselves are cashless — value goes on your Leaf Card or app first.
What if I lose my Leaf Card?
If you registered your card at the kiosk, your balance can be transferred to a new card. Registering takes a minute and protects your money — we recommend it on your first visit. See Payment Options for how registration works.
Can I wash a comforter or other bulky items?
Yes — that’s what our jumbo washers are for. We have extra-large machines (up to 80 lb) that handle comforters, duvets, blankets, sleeping bags, and other bulky loads that won’t fit in a home washer.
What size washers do you have?
From standard 20 lb machines up to 80 lb jumbos, so you can match the machine to your load instead of paying for space you don’t need — or split a big laundry day across several machines and finish in one visit.
I forgot detergent. Now what?
No problem — our in-store vending machines sell detergent, dryer sheets, bleach, and laundry bags, and they take the Leaf Card or app like everything else.
Do you offer wash and fold service?
Not at this time — both Leaf Laundry locations are fully self-service. Our large machines and on-site supplies make it easy to get big loads done quickly yourself.
What if a machine malfunctions during my wash?
Let us know through the Refund Request page. Refunds cover malfunctioning machines, are processed within up to 3 business days, and one request per incident applies.
Do you have seating and WiFi?
Yes — both stores have seating areas and free WiFi, so you can work or relax while your laundry runs.
My business or organization needs laundry access for staff or clients. Can you help?
Yes — we offer reloadable and pre-loaded Leaf Cards for small businesses, schools, nonprofits, churches, shelters, and service organizations, with receipts and usage tracking. Learn more: Laundry for Your Organization.
When is the store least busy?
Weekday mornings and midweek are usually the calmest. Weekends — especially Sundays — are our busiest times, though with this many machines there’s rarely a wait.
